Candidates required to submit expenses details of online advertisement



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has urged the political parties and candidates to submit the details of expenditures made for the online advertisement in social networking sites for the federal and provincial assembly elections.

The EC’s appeals has come as the social networking sites are filled with the polls related advertisements after the completion of the candidacy nomination of the candidates for the federal and provincial assembly polls to be held on November 20.

The EC made such appeal by issuing the ‘Policy on Use of Social Sites on Election Management’.

EC’s Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said that continued monitoring and evaluation of the online advertisement is ongoing by forming a mechanism in the EC’s Secretariat and offices of the EC.
