Ex-speaker Mahara recommended as Maoist Center candidate for HoR election from Dang constituency 2

KATHMANDU: Maoist Center leader and former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been unanimously recommended as the candidate for November 20 election from Dang Constituency No 2.

Maoist Center central member Hemraj Sharma said Mahara was unanimously recommended for the member of the House of Representatives by the party’s Coordination Committee in the constituency on Sunday.

Mahara, who is also the vice-chairman of the Maoist Center, also won the 2017 elections as a candidate for the House of Representatives from the same constituency.

UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has also been recommended as a sole candidate from the constituency. A tough competition between Pokharel and Mahara is excepted in the election.

In the 2017 elections, both of them had contested as common candidates of the Leftist Alliance.
