Writ filed against Bhuwan KC’s appointment as Film Development Board chairman

KATHMANDU: A writ has been filed against the appointment of Film Development Board Chairman Bhuwan KC in the Supreme Court on Thursday.

One of the other applicants applying for the chairmanship of the Film Development Board filed the writ claiming that KC does not meet the criteria for the post.

The writ demanded revocation of the decision taken by the Council of Ministers on July 25 to appoint KC to the post.

One must be a graduate to be appointed as the chairman of the Film Development Board, however, KC has qualification only till certificate level, the writ said. On this ground, the petitioner has demanded to revoke KC’s appointment.

Supreme Court Spokesperson Bimal Paudel said the writ had been registered and the preliminary hearing would be held on Monday.
