KATHMANDU: Successful Director Rambabu Gurung is set to direct a social drama ‘Phulbari’ with actors Bipin Karki and Dayahang Rai.
The announcement of ‘Phulbari’ was done amidst a program in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Produced by Yashoda Films Private Limited, the film features Karki, Rai, Miruna Magar, Aruna Karki, Srijan Subba, Somnath Khanal, Priyanka Karki and others. Likewise, Manish Dhakal is the producer of the film.
Phulbari is a social drama depicting the relationship between a father and a son.
The storyline based on life of Kamal Kishor Malpani has been written by Upendra Subba and the movie is going into production phase from late August.
Yashoda Groups’ Malpani said that they have entered Nepali film industry to produce good and quality films. “Nepali films have a good market. We want to bring quality films to the audience. We want to give the audience a quality family drama regardless of the budget,” he said during the announcement.
Director Gurung said he picked the film as he was confident about the storyline of Phulbari.
“Family stories easily connect with the audience. And, I have got the role to direct the movie,” he said.
Gurung has directed many films and the latest of his successful work is ‘Kabaddi 4’.
Likewise, Actor Bipin Karki is also very excited to act in the film as his role is going to be challenging. He will play the character of an elderly person in the movie.
“I am ready to do the film according to the character demanded by the film. Instead of how I am, my character should be visible in Phulbari. I will try to fill life in my character,” he said.
Dayahang Rai has an important role in the film, notwithstadning that his appearance will be short. Rai did not reveal his role, however, he said that it has an important role.
Director Gurung’s previous movie in the social drama genre was ‘Purano Dunga’. He was confident that Phulbari would be better than his past works.
The film is being shot by American technician Josh Herum, who is also exicted to work with the team.
Kali Prasad Baskota and Anupam Sharma will compose music for the film.
