UML holding Secretariat meeting today

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, is holding a meeting of its Secretariat today.

The meeting to be held at the party central office Chyasal will set the date of the party’s Central Committee meeting.

According to the party, the meeting will also discuss contemporary political issues and the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly slated for November 20.

The meeting will also discuss the party’s election strategy, according to a UML leader.

CPN-UML has been saying it would contest the November 20 elections alone.

However, it has been learned that the party leaders are engaged in informal discussions with other parties, other than the ruling coalition, on forging an electoral alliance.
