NC Central Working Committee meeting begins in Sanepa



KATHMANDU: A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) has started at the party’s central office in Sanepa, Kathmandu, on Monday.

This is the first NC CWC meeting after the local level election concluded earlier on May 13.

NC Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said the meeting would review the local level election. After that, he added, the central members would discuss formulation of a strategy for the upcoming provincial and House of Representatives elections.

“The learnings and outcomes of the local level election would help direct the strategy ahead,” he said.

Stating that there was a general feeling that the ruling coalition should continue in the upcoming election, Mahat said that it would also be figure in the meeting.

NC party office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel said that the main agenda of the meeting was the review of local level election.

On the other hand, Dr. Shekhar Koirala’s camp has prepared to raise the issue of working style of party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and the review of the government performance at the meeting.

Koirala faction also demonstrated outside the party office before the CWC meeting commenced.
