Health, education should be taken as a service: Mayor Shah

KATHMANDU: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah, has stressed on the need of providing health and education as a service and not as a business.

Mayor Shah said so while inspecting the newly constructed building of Chhatrapati Free Clinic as well as monitoring the clinic’s services.

He also directed the clinic to ensure the free treatment to helpless, poor people as well as those facing financial crunch.

Mayor Shah opined, “Education and health are the government’s major agendas. So it should be provided as a service. We are ready to provide support when needed.”

Saying KMC has given high priority to health and sanitation, he expressed commitment to work with those who come up with new plans and suggestions for the same.
