UML and NC cadres clash in Surkhet, six including four police injured



SURKHET: Six persons, including four policemen, have been injured in a clash between CPN-UML and Nepali Congress (NC) cadres in Surkhet.

According to District Police Office Surkhet, the clash took place at Simta-6, Rishi Danda last night.

Surkhet police spokesperson DSP Ram Prasad Gharti informed that six persons including four policemen and two UML cadres have been injured in the clash.

UML supporters Sunil BK, 36, and Indra BK, 24, were injured in the clash.

“The police tried to prevent the clash between UML and NC cadres when the two rivalling political parties came face to face during election campaign, DSP Gharti explained, adding, “Listening to us, the NC cadres retreated; however, UML cadres assaulted the police.”
