2,946 polling centers highly sensitive; 260,000 security personnel deployed



KATHMANDU: The government has made all the security arrangements required to hold the local level elections in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.

A total of 260,000 security personnel have been deployed for the security of the local level elections to be held on Friday (May 13)

The Ministry of Home Affairs has said it has deployed around 300,000 staffers across the country to successfully hold the local level elections.

There are 10,756 polling stations and 21,955 polling centers in 753 local bodies.

Of them, 2,946 polling centers are highly sensitive and 4,423 have been listed as sensitive, according to the Home Ministry.

Phanindra Mani Pokharel, the spokesperson at the Home Ministry, said the security management has been made effective.

A three-tier security arrangement has been made under the Local Level Election Integrated Security Plan, 2078, said the Home Ministry.
