Speaker Sapkota urges private sector to act more for development

KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has called upon the private sector to focus on the development and expansion of self-reliant economy.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of the 56th Annual General Assembly of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Speaker Sapkota said, on Monday, the economy has become too dependent due to various reasons.

Recalling that the private sector has all the knowledge, skills, talents and abilities to cope up with all sorts of adversities, the Speaker requested the private sector to play a role in overcoming the current economic crisis.

Speaking on the occasion, Federation President Shekhar Golchha said that they are ready to invest and the investment process should be made easier. He complained that the private sector was considered as a source of revenue but not a partner in development.
