IPL: Rajasthan climbs atop points table by defeating Lucknow



KATHMANDU: Rajasthan has defeated Lucknow Super Giants by three runs in a cricket match held under the Indian Premier League on Sunday night.

With the victory, Rajasthan has climbed atop the points table with six points from four matches. Lucknow was restricted to 162 runs while it was chasing the 166-run target set by Rajasthan.

Lucknow’s Quinton De Cock made 39 runs followed by  Marcus Stoinis 38 and Dipak Hoda got 25 runs.

In reply, Rajasthan’s Yuzvendra Chahal took highest four wickets of Lucknow followed by Trent Bolt by two wickets.

Earlier, batting first, Rajasthan had notched up 165 runs by losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Rajasthan’s Shimron Hetmyer made highest 59 runs followed by Devdutt Padikkal and Ravichandran Ashwin with with 39, 28 runs, respectively.

Lucknow’s Jason Holder and Krishnappa Gowtham took two wickets each.

With this win, Rajasthan has notched up six points from four matches while Lucknow has six points from five matches.
