CPN-Unified Socialist Chair Nepal tests positive for COVID-19

KATHMANDU: CPN-Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.

The test report of leader Nepal that arrived today confirmed the infection in him, said the Unified Socialist chair’s Secretariat. “However, his health is in good condition and he is isolating at his residence.”

Leader Nepal had issued an appeal Monday asking party leaders and cadres to strictly abide by health safety protocols in view of soaring COVID-19 cases.

Prominent political leaders, including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, have tested positive for the virus of late.
