Two die, three go missing in Kalikot bulldozer mishap

KATHMANDU: Two persons died and three others went missing after a bulldozer met an accident in Andherikhola cliff of Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality-1 in Kalikot district on Saturday.

Three persons have sustained injuries in the accident, the District Police Office, Kalikot, confirmed.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jayeshwor Rimal said that the bulldozer that fell some 80 meters off the river was returning from Phukot Karnali Hydropower Project by carrying human resources deployed there to test the condition of water in the under-construction tunnel of the project.

Those deceased are 30-year-old Charitra Sarki and Yubraj Budha, 16, of Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality-1.

According to police, driver Kamal Sodari of Achham district and 19-year-old Umesh Giri and Raktim Karki, 14, of Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality-1 are missing after the accident.

Injured Milan Shahi, 22, of Raskot and Ashishi Bharati and Bikash Bharati of Khadachakra Municipality are receiving treatment at the District Hospital, Kalikot.
