CPN-UML Secretariat finalizes PR candidates (with list)



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML’s Secretariat meeting has finalized the name of leaders to represent the party in the parliament under the proportional representation (PR) category.

The UML Secretariat meeting held at the central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, on Saturday finalized the names of 34 people including 12 males and 22 females.

According to UML sources, Devi Prasad Bhattachan, Hemraj Rai and Kaluram Rai, Nainakala Thapa, Suryakumari Shrestha, Urmila Thebe, Ishwari Gharti, Rankumari Balampaki, Shanti Shrestha and Saraswati Subba have been chosen for PR candidates under Adibasi Janajati category.

Similarly, leaders including Raghuji Pant, Eknath Dhakal and Dayal Bahadur Shahi, Menuka Kumari Pokharel, Sarita Bhusal, Shobha Gyawali, Bijula Rayamajhi, Nirmala Koirala, Yakkan Thapaliya, Deepa Sharma and Sunita Baral are selected for PR lawmakers under Khas-Arya category.

Likewise, Ashmakumari Chaudhary and Shanta Chaudhary have been picked as PR candidates under the Tharu category.

There are 2 women and 3 men under Dalit category: Ishwar Bahadur Rizal, Prabhu Hazara Paswan, Chandra BK, Rukmini Rana and Hakarmaya Bishwakarma are in this cluster.

Similarly, there are Ganga Prasad Yadav, Amritlal Rajbanshi and Binadevi, Amritadevi Agrahari and Pratiksha Tiwari under Madhesi cluster whereas Siraj Ahmed Farooqui is under Muslim community category.
