NC finalizes PR candidates for Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Province Assembly ( With list)



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the central work executive committee of Nepali Congress (NC) held in Kathmandu on Saturday has finalized the list of the leaders to join Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim province assemblies under the proportional representation (PR) system.

According to NC sources, only women leaders could be sent to Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim province assemblies. The names were decided by the committee according to the closed list submitted earlier to the Election Commission.

“As male parliamentarians have to be recommended in Lumbini, Bagmati, Madhes Province and Province 1, we have given the responsibility of recommending male parliamentarians in those provincial assemblies to the party President,” a leader said after the meeting.

As decided today, Dil Maya P. B. and Tika Kumari Basyal have been selected for Dalit women in Gandaki.

Similarly, Bimala Gauchan, Rekha Gurung, Saraswati Gurung and Parbati Tamang have been selected under ethnic community category and Saraswati Aryal Tiwari, Champadevi Khadka and Kalpana Tiwari have been selected from Khas-Arya women category.

Likewise, Lakshmi Sunar has been selected under Dalit women category while Balimaya Budha has been selected for ethnic women, and Janaki Singh, Bijaya Budha and Indrakumari Shahi from Khas Arya women category in Karnali.

Lalita Sunar was selected for Dalit women in Sudurpaschim Province, Madhu Bharati, Saraswati Khadka, Juna Dani, Dambari Mahara and Tulsi Devkota were selected from Khasarya community. Geeta Kumari Chaudhary has been selected for Tharu community there.
