Manav Sewa Ashram bags ‘Human Rights Award-2079’

KATHMANDU: Prof Dr Kapil Man Shrestha and the Manav Sewa Ashram based in Kathmandu have won the ‘Human Rights Award-2079’.

Dr Shrestha was honored with the award for his studies, research, teaching, writings, publications, advocacy and protection of human rights, said the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

Similarly, the Ashram was awarded for rescuing, providing treatment, counseling and taking care of orphans and abandoned people.

For the honor, a human rights award revolving a fund was established in 2078 BS on the occasion of the issuance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the Government of Nepal.

Any individual and organization working in the sector of human rights is given the award.
