Physical infrastructures, labs being constructed in 143 schools in Baglung



BAGLUNG: Physical structures and ICT labs are to be constructed in 143 schools in Baglung district in the current fiscal year.

The local governments in the district have forwarded the process for signing contract for constructing four-room and two-room blocks. Various structures would be constructed at 108 schools and ICT labs built at 35 schools in the current fiscal year under the President Education reform Program run by the federal government.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had in August published the list of schools for allocating the budget for construction of the physical infrastructures.

The Ministry has issued circulars to the local governments for the implementation of the scheme beginning December 14.

Of the schools selected for the program budget has been allocated for construction of a four-room block each at 46 schools, a two-room block each at 62 schools and an ICT lab each at 35 schools, according to the Centre for Education and Human Resource Development.

Accordingly, Rs 230 million at the rate of Rs 5 million per block has been earmarked for the construction of a four-room block each at 46 schools, Rs 155 million at the rate of Rs 2.5 million per block for construction of a two-room block at 62 schools and Rs 22.75 million at the rate of Rs 650 thousand per lab for construction of an ICT lab at 35 schools.

A total budget of Rs 407.75 million has been allocated under the program in Baglung district in the current fiscal year.
