SC asks EC not to take action on ‘No, Not Again Campaign’

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has asked the Election Commission not to implement its decision to punish the group associated with the ‘No Not Again Campaign’ as per cyber law.

The SC gave a continuation to its earlier interim decision on Thursday.

The division bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Sushma Lata Mathema continued the interlocutory order the SC had given.

A single bench of Justice Hari Prasad Phunyal had issued the interlocutory order on November 6.

The division bench on Thursday held discussion with both sides of case and issued the order that Election Commission should not punish the ‘No Not Again Campaign.

‘ On October 31, senior advocate Dr Dinesh Tripathi had filed a writ petition against Election Commission’s directive to take action against the ‘No Not Again Campaign’. With the SC order, EC’s decision has been rendered ineffective.
