PM Deuba expresses sorrow over Queen Elizabeth II’s demise



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba expressed his sorrow over demise of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom (UK).

PM Deuba reached the British Embassy in Kathmandu and signed the book of condolence, extending his condolences and the tribute to Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on September 8 at the age of 96, according to PM Deuba’s Secretariat.

Earlier on September 9, PM Deuba took to Twitter and expressed his sadness over the passing away of the British Monarch.

Fondly reminiscing her two important state visits to Nepal in 1961 and 1986, the Head of the Government of Nepal said that Queen Elizabeth II distinguished herself with duty, honor and service.

Furthermore, Deuba through his tweet also expressed deepest condolences to the British royal family.

The government of Nepal on September 9 decided to mourn the passing away of Queen Elizabeth II for three days from September 10-12.
