NC leadership urged to take electoral and political agenda to people

KATHMANDU: A subcommittee formed by the party to monitor, supervise and evaluate the Local Level Election-2079 has asked Nepali Congress leadership to take electoral and political agenda to the people.

The subcommittee made such suggestion while furnishing its report to party President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The subcommittee led by coordinator and central member of party Pradip Poudel submitted the report to President Deuba and committee coordinator and Vice-President Purna Bahadur Khadka.

Subcommittee coordinator Poudel said in a press conference that although NC garnered relatively more votes, it failed to meet expected result.

The party leadership has been further suggested to award election tickets to clean, energetic, practical and popular persons so that he/she could ensure victory.

The election manifesto must be attractive and logical. Similarly, interacting with the voters on local development works, forwarding the agenda related to voters, making education effective, understanding voters’ psychology and adopting measures to add new voters are other suggestions to the party.

The voters should be reached with good works the party had done so that they can make informed choice in the election, the subcommittee report said, adding that modern technology could be adopted for election publicity.

Making electoral spending transparent is imperative, the report added.
