Former Chief Election Commissioner Yadav denied “special observer” role

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has refused to grant special observer’s role to former Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav.

According to EC sources, Yadav has been denied the role of observer he had applied for citing his affiliation to a party.

If allowed, he would be in the role of special observer.

“His name and application for election observation were also received by the Commission,” the source said, adding, “When inquired about it, we found out that he was involved in a political party, so we could not give the permission to observe the local election. “
