KATHMANDU: The ruling alliance is holding election rallies in view of the May 13 elections in Lalitpur and Dadeldhura today.

Top leaders of the ruling coalition will address the gathering in Lalitpur.

Nepali Congress (NC) leader Chiri Babu Maharjan is contesting the local level elections for the post of mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City from the alliance.

The election rally is also being held in Sudurpashchim Province. According to the schedule, an election rally will be held in Dadeldhura, the home district of NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

NC top leaders including Deuba and senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel will address the mass gathering, NC sources have said.

It is learned that President Deuba will return to Kathmandu only after casting his vote in his home district.
