Ram Nawami being observed in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Ram Navami is being observed today in Nepal.

It’s a Hindu spring festival that celebrates the birthday of Lord Ram revered as the seventh avatar of Lord Bishnu.

According to the Hindu calendar, the day is observed on Navami tithi (ninth day) during shukla paksha (bright phase) of the Hindu month of Chaitra.

The government has announced a public holiday today on the occasion.

All government and public offices will remain shut today.
