Ramdev Sah of Dr. Koirala faction elected NC Saptari president



KATHMANDU: Ramdev Sah, of Dr. Shekhar Koirala faction, has been elected as the president of Nepali Congress (NC) Saptari.

Sah defeated the establishment candidate Shatrudhan Prasad Yadav by a margin of 116 votes. Sah secured 1,186 against rival candidate Yadav’s 1,070 votes.

There were 2,535 voters in Saptari, of which 2,342 votes were cast.

Counting of votes was held in the meeting hall of District Coordination Committee (DCC).

Police restricted the presence of media persons at DCC hall as counting reached final stage, citing indecent behavior.
