NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba welcomes Mayor Deep Narayan Rauniyar into the party amidst a program in Birgunj on Thursday.
KATHMANDU: Mayor of Pokhariya Municipality, Parsa, Deep Narayan Rauniyar has defected to the Nepali Congress (NC).
Rauniyar joined the NC during a program organized by NC District Working Committee, Parsa, in Birgunj, on Thursday.
NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who arrived in Birgunj today, welcomed Mayor Rauniyar into the party.
Rauniyar had been elected the mayor in the first local level election by securing 3,026 votes from the Nepali Janata Dal.
