NC Gen Secy Sharma urges UML Chair Oli not to be intimidated by color of ballot

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has urged CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli not to be afraid of the color of the ballot paper to be used in upcoming local level election.

The Election Commission (EC) decided to print election ballots in green color in the local elections slated for May 13. However, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has objects to the EC’s decision of using green color in ballots, referring to green color of ‘tree’ election symbol of the Nepali Congress (NC).

Talking to a news agency on Thursday, General Secretary Sharma urged the opposition leader to give attention to his working style rather than being scared of the color of the ballot paper.

General Secretary Sharma said that the EC was free to independently decide the color of the ballot paper.
