Maoist Center postpones CC meeting scheduled for Feb11-12

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-Maoist Center convened on February 11 and 12 has been postponed.

Issuing a notice on Thursday, the Maoist Center’s Central Secretariat stated that the Central Committee meeting has been postponed due to special reasons.

The Maoist center had called a two-day meeting at Pragya Pratisthan, Kamaladi, Kathmandu saying that it would select the office bearers.

Although the party’s national general convention chose the party chairman and central committee members, it failed to finalize the name of office bearers and assigned the task of choosing office bearers to central committee.

A leader of the Maoist center said that the meeting was postponed for citing coronavirus pandemic.

According to him, the CC meeting is not likely to take place until a concrete agreement is reached in the coalition on the US grant project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
