Chinese national arrested with forged death certificate

KATHMANDU: A Chinese national has been arrested on the charge of carrying forged death certificate from Kathmandu.

Acting on a tip-off, the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, arrested the Chinese national on Tuesday in possession of a forged death certificate at the Teku Hospital in Kathmandu.

The arrested is identified as Wang Yang, a Chinese national carrying passport number EJ 0509277. Police recovered several documents from him, including a death imitation record issued by Green City Hospital and fake death certificate in the letter head of Pashupati Aryaghat Service Center, among others, from him.

An investigation has been launched against the arrested Wang in the case as per Schedule 25 Article 276 (1) of the Criminal Code, 2017.

Further investigation is being carried out by the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, after obtaining a 5-day remand from Kathmandu District Court.
