NC leader Koirala meets Maoist Chair Prachanda



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has called on CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the latter’s residence in Khumaltar this morning.

The leaders discussed issues related to local elections, US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), contemporary politic and other issues, it is said.

Prachanda had proposed Dr. Koirala that NC and Maoist Center should forge an alliance in the election. But Koirala clarified his stance to the Maoist chair that he was not in favor of an electoral alliance.

The NC leader viewed that if needed, political parties could form alliance to run the government but not during election.
