CPN-Maoist Center Central Committee to meet on Feb 11 and 12

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee (CC) of the CPN-Maoist Center is to convene at the Nepal Academy at Kamaladi in Kathmandu on February 11 and 12.

The party said the CC meeting will finalize the selection of central office-bearers. The party statute has provisioned for 15 office-bearers including a chairperson, senior vice-chairperson, six vice-chairpersons, general secretary, two deputy general secretaries, three secretaries and one treasurer.

The meeting will start from 11 in the morning on Friday, Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s secretariat said.

The CC meeting had been put off for various reasons after the party’s 8th National Convention held from December 26, 2021, through January 2, 2022. The party has yet to appoint the office-bearers as the CC meeting has been postponed frequently.

The first meeting after the conclusion of the General Convention unanimously selected Prachanda as the party’s chairperson.

Although a CC meeting had been called for January 9 for finalizing the party’s office-holders, this meeting was also put off as employees at the party central office and some central leaders were infected with coronavirus infection.
