‘Prithvi Narayan Shah’s teachings still relevant’



KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Ale, has said that the teachings by Prithvi Narayan Shah are still relevant.

At a seminar jointly organized by different institutions, including Nepal Academy and Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, on the occasion of 300th birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah in Kathmandu Monday, Minister Ale mentioned that Shah’s policy and ideology were far-sighted.

Similarly, former vice-chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University, Prof Dr Tri Ratna Manandhar, Prithvi Narayan Shah seeking support in Nepal unification from Bise Nagarchi who provided one rupee proves the people’s participation in the unification campaign.

Likewise, different personalities including Chief of Social Department of Nepal Academy, Dinesh Raj Panta, Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, KK Karmacharya, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Academy, Dr Jagman Gurung, among others shared that there was participation of people from all castes and languages in the unification campaign held under leadership of Prithvi Narayan Shah.
