Home Ministry bans gathering of more than 25 people in public places

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to prevent more than 25 people from gathering in public places keeping in view of the rapidly spreading coronavirus infection.

The ministerial level meeting held Monday at Singh Durbar based Home Ministry, banned the activities involving the crowds in public spaces.

Monday’s decision to restrict all kinds of political, public and administrative, social and similar programs that involve mass in public places has come in line with Sunday’s COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMCC) recommendation to take strict measures to curb wide-spreading coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Ministry has informed urgent regular programs can be conducted with the permission of the local administration.  “It has been decided not to  let organize fairs, gatherings and festivals with more than 25 people in public places until further notice,” the Ministry sources told Khabarhub.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has also directed the subordinate security agencies and the administration office to implement the decision.

The Ministry has also directed the security agencies and the administration to make arrangements of permitting entry into public places like offices, hotels, restaurants, cinema halls, stadiums, airports, parks, etc. only on the basis of the vaccination card or photo of the card denoting the person has received both doses of vaccine against COVID-19.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has also directed to make vaccination card mandatory for receiving public services from January 21.
