Relevance of federalism over: Biplav
Nepal Communist Party General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand Biplav has said that the relevance of federalism is over in the current context.
Biplav made such acomment about federalism at a program organized in Kapilvastu on Friday.
PM Deuba seeks commitment and activism from all to combat corruption
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba asserted that anti-corruption campaign needs commitments and activism from all mechanism of State, courts, civil societies and media.
Calling for commitment and activism from one and all to eradicate corruption, Prime Minister Deuba argued, “Corruption prevention is neither a responsibility of any State organ or agency nor is it a battle to be won by the activism of any State organ alone.”
SC directs not to implement Parliament Secretariat’s letter offering acquittal to CJ Rana
The Supreme Court has given an interim order not to immediately implement the letter given by the Secretary General of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Dr. Bharatraj Gautam, stating that the impeachment proposal of the suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana would be ineffective.

CPN-Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepal Samajbadi Party Chair Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel held a meeting in Kathmandu on Friday afternoon.

The Nagarik Unmukti Party has demanded the release of leaders including Reshamlal Chaudhary from the jail as a pre-condition to join the ruling coalition to participate in the government.
UML will play effective opposition: Bishnu Poudel
CPN-UML vice-chair Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said the party will play an effective role as an opposition in the post-election government.
Talking to journalists in Butwal today, he said, “Though the party is the largest party in terms of the voters’ choice, we are the second party in the parliament and will not participate in the government to be formed ahead.”
