Security tightened at Supreme Court premises; main gate closed to bar CJ Rana from entering

KATHMANDU: Security at the Supreme Court (SC) premises has been tightened.

A large number of security personnel has been deployed in front of the SC to prevent any untoward incident.

Security has been tightened after members of the Nepal Bar Association (NBA) have been barring Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana from entering the SC.

Tensions ran high on Wednesday as well after there were report that suspended CJ Rana was entering the SC to resume his work after receiving a letter from the Parliament Secretariat.

Police have also intensified security checks on visitors to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the Supreme Court.

Visitors have been allowed to enter on the basis of their identity cards.

Meanwhile, the gate from where the Chief Justice enters the Supreme Court has been locked.
