Two Doti quake victims referred to Dhangadhi

DHANGADHI: Two people injured in a house collapse in the Doti earthquake last night have been referred to Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi for further treatment.

Chana Bohara, 40, and Bishna Bohara, 50, of Purbichauki-3 were transported on a Nepal Army helicopter.

According to Doti District Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Nirajan Shretha, Chana was diagnosed with trapped air in the chest (pneumothorax) with four vertebrae bones and a cervical bone fractured from being crushed under rubble of the damaged building. Air was released from her chest before referring her to Dhangadhi, said the district hospital.

Bishna also got her hand fractured in the disaster. They require a CT-scan, and the facility is not available in the district hospital prompting their referral to the hospital.  Others injured are being treated in the hospital.
