Nepal aiming for third victory in SAFF U15 Women Championship



KATHMANDU: Playing undefeated in the tournament so far, Nepal is competing against Bhutan in the ongoing SAFF U15 Women’s Championship in Bangladesh.

The match between Nepal and Bhutan will start at 4:15 pm Nepali time at the Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium known as Kamalapur Stadium in Dhaka. Nepal wants to make its title journey stronger by getting its third win in a row against Bhutan.

Earlier, in the first match, Nepal defeated Bhutan 7-0 and home team Bangladesh 1-0 to collect 6 points. Nepal will be planning to remain undefeated by defeating Bhutan as well. Barsha Oli, who scored four goals including a hat-trick against Bhutan and a decisive goal against Bangladesh, will be the team’s main attraction.

Bhutan has already been out of the championship after losing three matches. Bhutan lost 7-0 to Nepal and 8-0 and 9-0 to Bangladesh.

So far, Bangladesh is at the top with 6 points from 3 matches. Nepal, which has played one game less, has 6 points but is behind in goal difference. The has not been able to open the accounts of goal and points till now.

The tournament which has 3 countries participating in it is being held in a double round robin format. The team with the most points at the end of the league will win the tournament. Nepal will win the title if they defeat Bhutan and draw with Bangladesh on Friday. Nepal will play the last match against Bangladesh on November 11.
