President authenticates three bills
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has certified three bills.
The bills presented to the President by both Houses of parliament were certified as per Article 113 (2) of Constitution of Nepal, according to President’s Office.
The certified bills are- bill made to amend and integrate laws on insurance, bill made to amend and integrate laws on management of public debt, and bill made to manage animal health and livestock service entrepreneurs’ council.
EC says registration of candidacy nomination completed in a peaceful manner
The candidacy nomination registration for the November 20 election to the Federal and Provincial Assemblies has been completed across the country in a peaceful environment on Sunday, according to the Election Commission (EC).
The registration that began at 10:00 am continued till 5:00 pm by the candidates in the respective EC offices including the Office of the Chief Returning Offices and Office of the Election Offices in all 77 districts across the country.
EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma said the final details would be released shortly as the candidacy nomination process is still ongoing in some constituencies.
As per the latest information received from the EC, some 1,600 candidates have lodged their nomination in 165 posts for the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) while some 2,000 candidates are for 330 provincial assembly members.
In some constituencies, the candidacy nomination registration process is taking place as the candidates are queued up for the registration purpose.
Likewise, the nomination registration was also delayed as the political parties picked their candidates in the eleventh hour in some constituencies.
PM Deuba registers candidacy nomination from Dadeldhura
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today registered his candidacy nomination for the House of Representatives poll from Dadeldhura constituency.
PM Deuba’s spouse Dr Arju Rana Deuba as his representative registered his candidacy nomination at the office of chief returning officer, Dadeldhura, said the chief returning officer Bal Krishna Wagle.
UML Chair Oli registers nomination for HoR from Jhapa 5
CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has registered his candidacy for the election to the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from the Jhapa constituency- 5.
The former Prime Minister visited the Office of the Election Officer in the constituency this afternoon and filed his nomination. He arrived here on Saturday for the purpose of registering nomination today.
Maoist Chair Prachanda files nomination from Gorkha 2
CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has filed a nomination to contest in the election to the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Constituency number 2 of Gorkha district.
Leader Prachanda has been proposed by Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) Chair Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and backed by Nepali Congress Gorkha district secretary Kishor Junga Thapa.
Similarly, Nepali Congress’s Surendra Pande and Nepal Samajwadi Party’s Phanindra Devkota have also filed candidacy for the election to the members of the Provincial Assembly from A and B constituencies of Gorkha-2.
Unified Socialist Chair Nepal files candidacy from Rautahat-1
CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Nepal has filed his candidacy from Rautahat-1 on Sunday.
After filing his papers for the elections, he expressed confidence that the people of Rautahat will make him victorious in the upcoming election to the House of Representatives.
NC fields 86 candidates for HoR election
The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has filed candidacy of 86 candidates for the upcoming polls of the House of Representatives (HoR).
NC will be supporting the members of the ruling alliance in 77 election constituencies.
The party has filed candidacy of 19 candidates in Province 1, 15 in Madesh Province and 18 in Bagmati Province.
Likewise, the party has filed candidacy of 9 candidates in Gandaki, 12 in Lumbini, four in Karnali and nine in Sudurpaschim provinces.
Leader Khanal files candidacy from Ilam-1, Nembang from Ilam-2
Former prime minister and leader of CPN (Unified Socialist), Jhalanath Khanal, filed candidacy for the election to the Member of House of Representatives from constituency no 1 of Ilam district.
In his absence, party representative Dipak Poudel registered candidacy on behalf of leader Khanal.
In the same constituency, district chairperson of CPN UML Mahesh Basnet filed his candidacy.
Meanwhile, CPN UML leader Subash Chandra Nembang registered his candidacy for the member of the House of Representatives from constituency no 2 of Ilam.
NC General Secy Sharma registers his candidature from Jhapa 1
Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma registered his candidacy for House of Representatives election from Jhapa constituency 1.
The leader reached the Election Officer’s office in Mechinagar from Bhadrapur Airport this afternoon and registered his candidacy.
Similarly, Agni Kharel, Jhapa in-charge of the CPN UML, has filed his candidacy from the same constituency.
NEPSE rises by 44.62 points on Sunday
On the first trading day after the Dashain holiday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has gone green again and increased by 44.62 points.
After being closed for 9 consecutive days due to Dashain holidays, the stock market index NEPSE, which opened from Sunday, increased by 2.41 percent.
The market index NEPSE increased by 44.62 points and closed at 1898.38 points on Sunday.
