Kathmandu Valley receives 46 mm rainfall in three hours, Bara 112 mm today

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley recorded 46 millimeters rainfall in three hours today.

According to meteorologist Manju Basi, Meteorological Forecasting Division, the Valley witnessed the rainfall since morning today.

Similarly, Bara received the highest 112 mm rainfall. According to Basi, today Kathmandu Valley and adjoining areas received rainfall and it is likely to continue for the next few days.

Valley witnessed intermittent heavy rainfall at some locations. Singha Durbar, Maitighar, Putalisadak, Ratnapark and Tripureshwor areas were hit by heavy downpour for a brief time.

As the Division said, the axis of monsoon trough is some south from the average location, resulting in partly and generally cloudy across the country and rainfall.

Tonight there will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of the country and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly region of the country, the Division predicts.
