POKHARA: Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” said the issue of who would become the Prime Minister after the November 20 election has not been discussed in the five-party coalition.
Talking to journalists in Pokhara today, Prachanda said that he was not in a mood to discuss the issue of the prime minister before the election.
“The coalition will not portray any leader as the next prime minister now,” Prachanda said.
He also dismissed rumors that he was in the race to become the prime minister.
Prachanda also denied reports that the delay in forging consensus on the allocation of seats among the ruling partners was because of the Prime Ministerial candidate.
“I could have become the Prime Minister for five years in 2074 BS had I wanted to,” he said adding, “I could have become the Prime Minister then but my focus was on forging a Left unity rather than becoming a PM.”
