Nepal observing national mourning today over Japan’s former PM Abe’s demise

KATHMANDU: The Home Ministry has said the country would observe national mourning and there will be no formal program to mourn the demise of former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe.

The government has also paid tribute to late Abe and extended condolences to the Japanese government, people, and Abe’s family members.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, too, expressed his sorrow over Abe’s demise.

“My heartfelt condolence! He (Abe) was not only a popular leader in the world but also a good friend of Nepal,” PM Deuba said on his Twitter.

Abe died after being shot on Friday morning while addressing an election campaign.
