Nepal exports electricity worth Rs 75 million daily



KATHMANDU: Nepal has started exporting electricity worth about Rs 75 million to India daily.

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has started exporting a total of 312 megawatts of electricity from five hydro projects of Nepal to the Indian Energy Exchange (IIE) since Wednesday night.

Six thousand eight hundred megawatt hours will be exported from Wednesday night to midnight on Thursday.

From midnight on Wednesday to midnight on Thursday, the electricity was sold for IRs 6.88 (Rs 11) per unit.

According to this, six thousand eight hundred megawatt hours of electricity will be exported from Nepal in 24 hours.

Based on this data, electricity worth Rs 74.854 million will be exported on Thursday alone.
