KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the CPN-UML could dissolve the local levels itself if it wins the local elections.
Addressing a joint election rally of the five-party alliance in Dhangadhi on Monday, Deuba said that the UML, which had dissolved the House of Representatives twice, could also dissolve the local level if it wins at the local level.
“If the UML wins at local levels, it can dissolve local levels as well,” Deuba said.
“Making the UML, which repeatedly dissolved the parliament and later obstructed it, victorious means putting the local levels, the provincial assemblies and the parliament at risk of dissolution.”
Local level elections are being held across the country on May 13.
The NC, the Maoist Center, the CPN-Unified Socialist, the Janata Samajbadi Party and the Rastriya Janamorcha have formed alliance to defeat opponents at the local level.
