KATHMANDU: A voting is taking place on the no-confidence motion filed against Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in the parliament today.

In Pakistan’s 342-member parliament, 172 lawmakers are required for a majority.

A few days ago, a no-confidence motion was filed against Prime Minister Khan for mismanaging the economy and undermining good governance.

The no-confidence motion was signed by 100 lawmakers from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

According to BBC Hindi, Prime Minister Khan has warned that he will accept the decision of the Supreme Court but will not recognize the opposition government if he is ousted.

Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Thursday overturned the president’s dissolution of parliament on the recommendation of the prime minister, directing the latter to take the voting process forward.
