Electoral alliance will be forged on need basis: NC senior leader

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ramchandra Poudel said that electoral alliance would be formed on the need basis for the upcoming local level election.

The local level election is slated to be held on May 13 in a single phase.

Addressing a gathering of youths associated with Nepal Tarun Dal at Damauli today, senior leader Poudel stated the current coalition would continue till the upcoming election.

Stating that coalition was forged in the past to protect the Constitution, Poudel argued that NC would benefit from coalition at the places where it has weak presence. “We teamed up against the dissolution of the House of Representatives. We will continue with this unity till upcoming election.”

He viewed that NC would only emerge victorious in the upcoming election provided it stands united. Calling for unity among the youths in the party, the senior leader said that the youths had important role to help NC win the election.

“The youths must unite to make Congress win in the upcoming local level election,” he urged, dubbing the youths as the ‘backbone’ of the NC.
