KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has assigned 14 cases to the Wednesday’s Constitutional Bench.

The Bench is convened on Wednesday for the second time in five months. The meeting was held for the first time last Friday after September 29.

Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki has constituted the bench on the basis of seniority. Judges Meera Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki, Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada have been included in the bench on the basis of seniority.

After the impeachment motion was registered in the parliament, the incumbent Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana is currently suspended.

The Supreme Court could not sit for more than five months after Chief Justice Rana was dragged into the controversy.
