Foreign Minister Khadka leaves for Turkey to attend Antalya Diplomacy Forum

KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka leading a Nepali delegation left for Turkey on Tuesday to attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum to be held in Antalya of Turkey on 11-13 March. He left for Turkey at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event will bring together politicians, diplomats and policy makers from around the world, including South Asia, to discuss existing regional and international issues and their solutions.

Foreign Minster Dr Khadka is scheduled to address two separate events ‘Democratic Governance and Security’ and ‘New Asia for Sustainable Regional Development’ to be held on March 12. As informed, foreign ministers and policy-makers and experts of more than 50 countries are attending the events. Forum’s this year’s theme is ‘Recoding Diplomacy’.

While in Turkey, Minister Khadka is scheduled to meet with his counterparts as well as other high-level officials. The visit of the Foreign Minister, which is taking place in the context of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Turkey, is believed to be fruitful in deepening the bilateral relations.

The visit is also expected to contribute to the growth of bilateral trade, investment, tourism, foreign employment and people-to-people contacts.

Minister Dr Khadka is set to discuss with the office-bearers of NRNA Turkey and Nepali entrepreneurs today about the opportunities and challenges facing by Nepali community, the foreign ministry shared.
The delegation is scheduled to return home on March 14.
