Nepal records 1,167 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

615 cases recorded in Kathmandu Valley alone



KATHMANDU: The country recorded an alarming surge in the coronavirus cases with the daily count reaching 1,167 in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and population, of the 1,167 confirmed cases, 841 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 326 from the antigen method. Meanwhile, 224 people recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Similarly, there are 491 cases in Kathmandu, 25 in Bhaktapur and 99 in Lalitpur, taking the total cases in the valley to 615 in the past 24 hours.

According to the Mi, there were two coronavirus-related death reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country has reached 11,604 now.

There are 6,755 active cases of coronavirus in Nepal as of Sunday.
