Parliament stalemate will end soon, says Speaker Sapkota

KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has expressed confidence that the stalemate in the parliament will end soon on the basis of a political consensus.

He said that the solution to the political problem would be sought from the re-instated parliament.

“I am the Speaker of the House today because of your vote. You have made me the head of one of the three organs of the State, hence I will not betray your faith and trust,” he said.

Central member of the CPN (Maoist Center) Madhav Sapkota, Chief District Officer Bedanidhi Khanal and the head of the district security agencies were present on the occasion.

The CPN-UML, main opposition, has been continuously obstructing the House of Representatives alleging Speaker Sapkota for being bias and not taking action against the lawmakers of the Unified Socialist Party.
