India’s EC announces election schedule for UP, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa



NEW DELHI: India’s Election Commission has announced the schedule for assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa.

As per the schedule, voting for the assembly elections in these five states will be held between February 10 and March 7, India Today has reported.

The election in five states will be completed in 7 phases, it said.

In Uttar Pradesh, elections will be held in 403 assembly seats in seven phases from February 10 to March 7.

Elections in 60 constituencies of Manipur will be held in two phases on February 27 and March 3, while polling in Goa (40 seats), Punjab (117 seats) and Uttarakhand (70 seats) will be held on February 14.

Votes for all five assembly elections will be counted on March 10.
