Nepal hosting int’l rugby championship



KATHMANDU: Nepal is hosting the first-ever international Rugby Championship.

The Asia Rugby U18 Boys and Girls Sevens Tournament has been scheduled to take place on December 10-11 at the Tripureshwor-based Dashrath Stadium, according to Nepal Ruby Association acting chair Deepak Devkota.

At a press meet here today, it is shared that there will be participations from Chinese Taipei, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, India and Bangladesh including Nepal in the men’s championship followed by Nepal, India, the UAE, Malaysia and Thailand in the women’s championship.

The event to be organised by the Asia Rugby Association is coordinated by the Nepal Rugby Association.

Nepal National U18 Boys and Girls team has been in a closed camp training in Hetauda for around one and half months.
